Project Background

A large-scale white shrimp aquaculture farm in Thailand, covering 300 mu, faced challenges in real-time pH monitoring of breeding water. The farm was located in a remote area with no stable grid power, and manual sampling and testing was time-consuming, inaccurate, and failed to timely alert pH abnormalities, which affected shrimp survival rate and breeding benefits.

Product Configuration & Implementation

The customer chose ZONEWU LoRaWAN Water Quality pH Sensor, which perfectly adapted to the on-site environment. We adopted solar power supply mode (matching the farm’s outdoor open environment) to solve the problem of no grid power, and supplemented with battery backup to ensure stable operation even in continuous rainy days. The sensor fully supports the standard LoRaWAN protocol, with a transmission distance of up to 3km in open areas, covering the entire farm without blind spots, and realizing wireless data transmission without on-site wiring.

We deployed 15 sensors in key breeding ponds, which were connected to the LoRaWAN gateway and cloud platform. The sensor automatically collects pH data every 10 minutes, with a measurement accuracy of ±0.1 pH, meeting the strict requirements of shrimp breeding for water quality monitoring.

Project Effect

After 6 months of operation, the sensor has achieved stable and reliable monitoring. The cloud platform can display real-time pH data, set abnormal thresholds, and send early warning messages to the customer’s mobile phone and computer in time when the pH value is lower than 7.5 or higher than 8.5 (the optimal range for white shrimp breeding).

This solution has reduced manual testing costs by 60%, improved the accuracy of water quality monitoring, effectively avoided shrimp stress and death caused by pH abnormalities, and increased the shrimp survival rate by 15% and the breeding benefit by 20%. The customer highly recognized the product’s stability, easy deployment and multi-power supply advantages, and reached a long-term cooperation intention.
